Introduction
Hello Everyone-- Let me introduce myself. My name is Larkin. I start grad school August 2020 for a ph.d. in machine learning and rock physics. Until then I support myself by tutoring math, physics, and chemistry as well as providing ACT prep. What to expect on this blog: 1) my weekly data wrangling or machine learning adventures that need to start now (no, they won't be in rock physics because any research I do before I start classes this fall does not qualify for my doctoral work) 2) links to little tutorial videos that I make since Covid-19 transformed my in person tutoring practice to online and now the world wide web is my new geographical limit. 3) an attitude that 80% done now is better than 98% perfect in the future. Why this blog: 1) a blog is a free website publishing option that goes with my 12$/year domain larks.dev 2) I really want to graduate quickly with my ph.d. since I already have a masters degree. By forcing myself to write weekly, I will create a habit
